Proudmouth Caring Dentistry has become part of Lumino The Dentists, the national dental healthcare organisation, bring the total number of practices within the Lumino The Dentists group to 39.

The acquisition is Lumino’s largest purchase to date consisting of two practices located in the Auckland CBD and Takapuna.  ProudMouth’s Albert Street premises are the largest single site dental practice in New Zealand with 18 clinicians. 

Proudmouth clinical director, Rob Sherman says: `We’ve now got the basis for good growth with a stable team and a great group of clinicians. We see this as an opportunity for us to be the most significant player in the CBD market. We’re open longer hours than anyone else, from 7 am to 8 pm, which is great for the busy office worker. Now with the efficiencies and scale offered by Lumino we have plans for further expansion of our services.’  

Proudmouth Takapuna specialises in children’s dentistry and is the only centre of its kind on the North Shore.

Andy Tapper, managing director of Lumino The Dentists, said: ‘I am very pleased that we have strengthened our position in the Auckland region with this group of acquisitions.  In particular, ProudMouth gives us a significant presence in the Auckland CBD.  The practices contain some of New Zealand’s leading dentists and emphasise our focus on providing quality dental care.’

Three other practices in the greater Auckland area have also joined the Lumino network-  Manly Dental Care in Whangaparoa; Torbay Dental Care in Torbay; and a dental laboratory, Dental Designs in Remuera.   The four new combined practices, whose clinicians are all continuing under Lumino ownership, are expected to contribute annualised revenues to the group of close to $10 million.
